Picture bingo: print the cards, call the words
Print a bingo card for every child, each with a different pick of the lesson's pictures. Then the projector calls the words one by one: first said aloud, then shown. Children mark the picture; a full line, or a full card, calls "Bingo!".
Sample lesson: 8 animal words in Spanish, 2 teams. Free, no account.
- Ages
- 3–8 years
- Players
- The whole class, or 2–4 teams
- Time
- 5–15 minutes
- You need
- A projector, TV or interactive board
How it goes in class
- Pick 9 or more words and choose Picture bingo.
- Press Print cards: choose 3 × 3 or 4 × 4, how many cards, with or without words.
- Hand out the cards and something to mark with (counters, crayons, stickers).
- Present: each word is said first, then shown. The first full line wins!
Tips for teachers
- Laminate the cards and use counters: they can be played again and again.
- Pictures only for listening practice; pictures + words for early readers.
- The words called so far stay on the side of the screen, so you can check a "Bingo!".
Questions teachers ask
How many cards can I print?
10, 20, 30 or 40, two per A4 page. Press Mix again for a new set.
Are all the cards different?
Yes. Each card takes a different pick of the lesson's words, so children rarely win at the same moment.
Do I need a printer?
For paper cards, yes. Without one, children can draw a grid and copy pictures from the screen.
