Team tic-tac-toe with pictures
Nine pictures on a 3 × 3 board. Teams take turns choosing a picture and saying its word. Right, and the square is theirs; three in a row wins the board and a point. A great way to review a topic with lots of speaking and a little strategy.
Sample lesson: 8 animal words in Spanish, 2 teams. Free, no account.

- The team says the word; press Y if it's right (the square is theirs) or N if not.
- Three in a row wins the board; press → for a new board with the next words.
Tips for teachers
- Let the whole team agree before one child answers: everyone thinks, one speaks.
- Ask for a short sentence with the word for a harder game.
- The middle square is the most valuable: watch who goes for it first!
Questions teachers ask
How many words do I need?
Nine for one board; every further nine words make another board. A short lesson borrows words from the topic.
Can three or four teams play?
Yes. Each team has its own colour on the board; the turn goes round.
Who decides if the answer is right?
You do: press Y or N, or the buttons on the screen. Press S to hear the word.
