About
Lala Words is a website of short picture-and-sound games that help young children learn their first words in another language.
Languages: English, Tiếng Việt, 简体中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Français, Deutsch, and Bahasa Indonesia.
How it works
- Pick the language your child is learning and a topic, such as animals, food or colors.
- Play a quick game. Every word comes with a picture and is read aloud.
- Words that are still hard come back later for practice, until they stick.
The games
- Guess the Picture: Look at the picture and find the word
- Listen & Pick: Hear a word, tap the picture
- Gifts for Lala: Listen to Lala and give her what she asks for
- True or False: Look and listen: is it the right word?
- Balloon Pop: Hear a word, pop the right balloon
- Connect Pairs: Tap a picture, then its matching word
- Memory Match: Flip cards and find pairs
- Word Builder: Tap the pieces in order to build the word
- Sort Basket: Put each picture in its basket
- Count with Lala: Count the pictures and pick the number
- Memory Train: Remember the train's pictures and tap them in order
- How Does Lala Feel?: Look at Lala's face and pick the feeling
- Boat Race: Take turns: hear a word, pick its picture, sail to the flag
- Face to Face: Two kids, one screen: hear the word, tap its picture first!
- Act It Out: Act a secret word, friends guess it in the new language

For parents
- Kids never need an account. Progress stays on your device.

- Settings, the weekly report and purchases are in a grown-ups area behind a parental gate.
- A weekly report shows what your child played, the words they know and the words to practice.
- Games you have opened keep working without an internet connection.
- Every game is free to play, with 30 plays a day. Lala Plus, an optional plan for parents, removes the daily limit. See prices
